K-DOC has formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korean Dental Association, a move strategically designed to support the international expansion aspirations of South Korean dentists by establishing a collaborative framework. This crucial agreement lays the groundwork for a mutual cooperation system that will streamline dentists' efforts to expand overseas, facilitate the recognition of dental licenses abroad, and aid in the establishment of dental clinics in foreign countries. Additionally, the MOU aims to enrich educational opportunities and promote exchange programs, thereby offering dentists comprehensive support as they venture into international markets, including assistance with identity verification and local integration.
The medical and wellness tourism special economic zone currently being developed in Sanur, Bali, Indonesia, has been selected as the initial site for this ambitious initiative. In line with this strategic direction, K-DOC has partnered with MediBloc and Christmas Plastic Surgery to spearhead the development of Korean-style cosmetic surgery and dental beauty centers in this zone, a consortium that has garnered recent recognition through the "2023 Medical Overseas Expansion Project Support Business."
The Indonesian government's ongoing consideration to allow foreign medical licenses within this special zone augurs well for the success of this agreement. It is expected to significantly amplify the international footprint of Korean medical technology, with a particular emphasis on the dental medical field.
Tae-geun Park, the president of the association, stated, "The international expansion of our domestic dentists marks the beginning of new ventures into foreign medical markets. This agreement is set to robustly facilitate the global expansion of Korean dentists, effectively showcasing their outstanding skills on the international stage."
Seung-guk Cho, CEO of K-DOC, remarked, "K-DOC is dedicated to enriching medical professionals with broader experiences and opportunities for growth on an international level. Our objective is to prominently feature Korean medical technology on the global platform, thereby achieving a significant breakthrough in the international medical market."
