Launch of 'SMTC', a Short-Term Medical Training Certificate for Medical Residents, Offering Various Training Opportunities

The Korea Intern Resident Association (DAEJEONMAJOR, President hansol Yeo) and the medical overseas expansion platform K-DOC have developed a new short-term training program platform, SMTC (Short-Term Medical Training Certificate), for residents. This program aims to overcome the difficulties of securing individual training opportunities by collaborating with hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, medical volunteer organizations, and public institutions to provide diverse and practical training opportunities. The Korea Intern Resident Association and K-DOC are already in the process of developing training programs in collaboration with various institutions, including GENOSCO, the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, the Africa Future Foundation, and Good Neighbors, emphasizing the importance of ongoing communication.

The SMTC program is open to all medical professionals holding a medical license, and applications can be submitted through the K-DOC website. Furthermore, K-DOC has prepared programs in collaboration with the international NGO Good Neighbors, allowing participants to engage in projects such as enhancing infectious disease response in Paraguay, preventing underage pregnancy in the Dominican Republic, and participating in maternal and child health projects in northeastern Cambodia.

CEO Seung-kook Cho stated, "We hope to provide a variety of career options that will be beneficial for the medical residents of South Korea," expressing his desire to offer opportunities to many residents who had previously given up hope.
