On August 28, 2021, the '1st K-DOC Mission Online Conference (K-MOC)' was held for medical professionals, medical students, and the general public interested in international cooperation and medical volunteering. The event was organized by K-DOC, alongside the Africa Future Foundation and The H Hope Plus, an international medical volunteer organization, with support from the Korea NGO Council for Overseas Development Cooperation (KCOC) and the International Health and Medical Society. The conference aimed to provide a variety of experiences in the field of international health and medical care and offer new perspectives on the world, under the theme 'The Diverse Faces of International Health'.
CEO Seung-kook Cho of K-DOC described K-MOC as "an event planned with the purpose of creating a forum for sharing opinions and exchanging information through lectures on international development cooperation, international development issues, and medical volunteering, needed for international expansion." He further stated that the event aims to enhance understanding of international health and medical care, encourage participation of those dreaming of international expansion, and contribute to raising global healthcare standards.
Additionally, "K-MOC is scheduled to be held twice a year," aiming to "create a platform for exchange and unity among those challenging the fields of overseas medical volunteering and international health and medical care through lectures that combine online and offline formats."
The conference was conducted through an online Zoom webinar due to the spread of COVID-19, and participants were issued certificates for extracurricular activities.
